Fourteen years ago, Tina Belle bought a vacant 10 acre block in Clarence Town that needed a lot of love and a massive amount of elbow grease.

The idea behind it was simple, with Tina having four very young children by her side, one of whom is vision as well as hearing impaired and living with Cerebral Palsy, she was looking for a flat parcel of land where her young family could enjoy a relative simple life and grow into compassionate, capable, young adults.

Tina had studied naturopathy but instead of working in that field, found herself studying a different path and working in the world of Veterinary medicine, for a number of decades.

This parcel of land meant that Tina and her children could work towards building a home and a lifestyle that combined her love for animals and living a little more holistically, starting with planting her orchid and setting up homes for their new additions - Hayley’s Happy Hens.

Life can be journey of many roads, and Happy Ever After doesn’t always look like the original planned path of simplicity.

One of the unforeseeable forks in the road was the discovery that Tina was living with a brain tumour, that while benign, was causing havoc in all manner of ways.

Unable to return to the veterinary world she loved, still needing to support her young family, and unsure of her capacity long term after her neurosurgeries; in 2019 “Happy Ever After Coffee Co” was born.

Along came COVID, with the community isolation, fears of crowds and longing to be outdoors, Tina ensured that “Happy Ever After” was a place that people could safely go and feel some connection, while getting a great coffee outdoors.

Six years on, a number of significant forks in the road later, and trading as Crazy Chick Cafe @ Happy Ever After

they are still open to the community, constantly changing, always looking to improve, to support other local small businesses, while consistently offering fantastic locally sourced coffee, organic medicinal grade herbal teas, tasty treats and a place for various local artisans to showcase their wares.

The little family farm at Happy Ever After owned by Tina Belle and her four incredible children is a place that when you visit you know they genuinely care, their love of community and their kindness towards all people is undeniable, and their coffee is GREAT!
